The Palm Springs Air Museum is the first site in California to install a new state-of-the-art renewable solar power technology, in conjunction with Southern California Gas Company and the manufacturer of the new technology, Sopogy, Inc. The new technology will capture the sun’s energy, focus the sunlight onto a tube containing water, resulting in solar-heated hot water to be used in place of electricity or natural gas to power the air-conditioning. The Museum’s solar-driven air-conditioning system, while preserving the historical World War II fighter airplanes, will help reduce energy usage, subsequent costs, and greenhouse-gas emissions and provide a sustainable renewable alternative.

MSA Consulting, Inc. is providing Survey and Civil Engineering services related to the Solar Thermal Collector Field at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Services include field and topographic survey, base plan preparation, and precise grading plan preparation.
