MSA Consulting, Inc. was responsible for Preliminary Design Engineering services including Topographic Survey and Utility Research for the new headworks facility at the CVWD Water Reclamation Plant No. 7 (WRP 7) located at the corner of Avenue 38 and Madison Street in unincorporated Riverside County, north of the City of Indio. In addition, MSA performed Final Design Civil Engineering including off-site street and storm drain improvements, cost estimates, and construction support.
The new headworks facility includes screening, pumping, and grit removal and handling. Two new influent pipelines and one new effluent pipeline connect the proposed headworks to the existing influent trunk sewer, influent force main, and the existing aeration tank. Portions of Avenue 38 and Madison Street were reconstructed and frontage improvements adjacent to and outside the fence line of WRP 7 were constructed, including landscaping, sidewalks, and block walls for visual screening.
