MSA was happy to host a group of Cathedral City High School students at our office for an introduction into the world of Civil Engineering, Planning, Environmental and Surveying. These students partake in DATA (Digital Arts Technology Academy) program provided at the school. Marco Celedon took the senior students around to each of our departments to show how each team is vital to the success of our Clients projects. Using the Del Webb at Rancho Mirage as an example, they were shown the survey departments role, including plans and the equipment needed to transfer digital designs, from computer to the site. They were shown how the planning department works to develop the layout to meet clients and city requirements, adjusting the project from one iteration to the next, always moving toward getting the project entitled. And in the engineering department, they got to see the complicated and iterative process needed to design the infrastructure and massive grading of this project. Overall, the students saw how important it is for every department to work as a team during every step of the project, and they experienced how MSA is perfectly suited for that collaboration.
